TerraVin, Marlborough, New Zealand
TerraVin Diary - October - December

Hand Leaf Removal: Due to the critical nature of sunshine exposure and air movement with in the canopy this is a job we do by hand with experienced staff.

Late January

Vendage Vert (Green Fruit Thin): Prior to Veraison all substandard bunches or parts of bunches are removed. Also the crop is reduced where necessary, making sure the vine is not stressed or over cropped.

Mid February

Verasion: Change of colour

Fruit Thin: This is the final chance to refine the crop prior to fruit all turning red. Any fruit at this stage that has not turned colour at the same rate as the rest is removed and dropped on the ground.

Late Febraury

Nets go on the vines to protect them from the birds that are as interested in the fruit as we are!
